Possible consequences of joining a gang are:
- Identification as a member of a certain gang by rival gang members (may lead to violent meetings).
- Constant conflict with rival gangs.
- Increased chance of being arrested when hanging out with fellow gang members.
- Increased chance of injury/death when hanging out with "targeted" gang members.
- Drug/alcohol abuse (and possible arrest)
- Intimidation/victimization of family members due to gang membership.
